Three Awesome R's!

So lets start off by firstly saying Happy Birthday to Gaz! Yes that's right gaz has hit the big 30 today,
and after a night of hard partying including some Bon Jovi And Van Halen Karaoke, he is now settling
into his old age :)
                                                    HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAZ!!!!!!!

While I'm making a post, I might as well take this chance to remind you all we are playing a show this Tuesday night in Birmingham.
We are going to be playing a few new songs of our upcoming releases, as well as all the "classics" so it would be awesome if people could come along and make it a good night! I have found this flyer of the show on a message board, I think that's meant to be me on the right?
I hope I don't normally look that pail! ha ha

I wanted to make this post to talk about a few awesome bands that we are down with, and how you should be listening to them by now! (my post about our shows with Right Idea will have wait until next time!) First are our good buddies Remission, my favourite current hardcore band. If you haven't checked these guys out yet then maybe you have been living under a really shitty rock where the only sounds that creep in are crappy Integrity worshipping bands.
Anyways the guys have got a new 7" coming out which went up for pre-order last monday on React! Records. I don't think you could place a better order for three new records at once this year than to go pick up the pre-orders for the new Remission, Common Cause and Not Sorry 7"s over at itstimetoreact.com
If you like bands like Verbal Assault, 411 One Step Ahead and basically just classic rockin' hardcore than I can't see you not being able to get behind Remission. It's also worth pointing out that you should go and pick up there LP "accept" from my main man Pablo at Amendment Records, which is one of the most awesome labels going. While your there pick up the Remains To Be Seen
and Approach records, both brilliant 7"s and the new Columnas 7", which is arguable the best thing i've heard this year! Yes it is that damn good! Look out for Times Together working with Remission and Amendment Records on something exciting in early 2011!

Next up is an awesome band from Russia called Rearranged. I can't even begin to start describing how awesome there LP "New Forms" is. Probably the best LP i've heard this year, and the best record to get released on a UK label since Dead And Gone put out Damage Control and Champion. Yes get excited, as there is an awesome new label in the UK called Anger Battery Records (you can't go wrong
with a Verbal Assault reference!). I can't say enough good things about this record, it hasn't left my record player for about a month now!
You can pick it up here
http://angerbatteryrecords.bigcartel.com/
I read a description of it that said it was "the perfect mix of youth crew sound, traditional hardcore and passionate lyrics", and I think that
pretty much hits the nail on the head! If you like classic core, YOT, Dag Nasty etc, you won't be disappointed!

The final record I wanna talk about is the Resolve LP "Won't stand By". This went up for pre-order along side our 7" on Just Another Day Records earlier this year. Now firsty I wanna say that I'm not just talking this record up because it got released on the same label as our record, Seb has put out several records before and since our record, and you don't see me making a post about each one (not to say they aren't good records, as the one's i've heard are!) but I am posting about this record as it is a very very good piece of wax!
I finally picked this record up a few weeks ago from Ignite Record Store in Birmingham (Rich is selling it for £5 I believe, which is such a bargain it's untrue!) and i'm pleased to say it completely exceded my expectations! It's always good when a record is as good as you expect it to be, but nothing
is better than picking up a record and it being even better than you expected!
This a great Traditional Hardcore record, basically what people call "Youth Crew" nowadays, but yeah, this is just a raging, hard record! Seriously good, think classic rev bands, YOT, BOLD etc, really angry
sounding, but in a good way! You can pick it up from Rich in Ignite Records, direct from the band, or from justanotherdayrecords.com, and i'd recommend doing that! Good work guys, keep it up!

That's all for now, hopefully see you tuesday, and i'll be back with more updates soon :)
Btw, i'm really struggling with this blog, so sorry for the big spaces, it looking shit etc! :(
